Buen Camino!!

Buen Camino!!

For my 50th Birthday present I am going to Spain with my BFF, Jamee, to walk the Camino de Santiago. I leave on Wednesday. As many of you know I wrote a website, Faith...An Extreme Sport (faesit.com). This is my Extreme Sport, I am literally walking out my faith by hiking 225km over two weeks. If you don't know about the Camino de Santiago it is a pilgramage people have been walking for over 1000 years. Watch the movie "The Way", it's a gem. Please pray I don't get blisters, injuries, and that my family survives without me. Buen Camino!!!

I was pondering Romans 6, (my paraphrase):

The old has passed away,

we are dead to sin and alive to Christ;

no longer a slave to sin,

but a slave to righteousness and holiness.

Practicing all that Jesus died to give us

right standing, peace, joy, love;

bringing all of what heaven has to offer

to earth, through the holy sprit working in me

I sensed I was on a plain and I wrote what was in my spirit:

“Yes, you are down off the mountain. The climb down was steep and at times treacherous.

We are now on the plains of the land of your inheritance. We are going to go for a long walk on the plains to process what you have learned, are learning, and what is to come.

You are spiritually and literally preparing for a long walk with me. This walk is on the plains. It is not in the desert, you have already passed through that/there. In the plains there are rolling hills, wheat, springs, lakes, gardens, forests, shade… You can see the storms coming before they reach you. You can prepare. You can sense the seasons coming and changing, for preparation of what is to come.

Our walk is a journey with the destination of praise. Just like the Camino de Santiago, you don’t know where you will lay your head, just as the son of man Jesus, did not know/have a place to lay his head. This means

YOU FOLLOW ME.”

Isaiah 40:1-5

1 Comfort, comfort my people,

says your God.

2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,

and proclaim to her

that her hard service has been completed,

that her sin has been paid for,

that she has received from the Lord’s hand

double for all her sins.

3 A voice of one calling:

“In the wilderness prepare

the way for the Lord;

make straight in the desert

a highway for our God.

4 Every valley shall be raised up,

every mountain and hill made low;

the rough ground shall become level,

the rugged places a plain.

5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,

and all people will see it together.

For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
