It was placed on the holy table as a remembrance/a memorial portion as a food offering to the Lord, which is known as the bread of his Presence. This was to be consumed daily by the priests. Then, Jesus shines through your broken places - to show how he takes the shattered and crushed - and makes them into a temple. And, in this sacred room with the lamp-stand and the table with its consecrated bread...
